A Favourite Custom was painted by Sir Lawrence Alma-Tadema in 1909. This scene is set in the Stabian baths at Pompeii. The artist based this work on photographs of the remains of the baths, revealed by archaeologists in 1824.  buy famous nude paintings online

He has made them more luxurious by adding a marble floor and walls which would more usually have been found in larger imperial baths. The Dutch-born artist Alma-Tadema achieved enormous success in Britain with carefully researched scenes like this of daily life in the ancient Roman world. This painting can be reproduced on canvas by Daydaypaint.com. Original Dimensions: Height: 66 cm, Width: 45.1 cm. Nude Paintings The Woman in the Waves

Gustave Courbet The Woman in the Waves

The Woman in the Waves was painted by Gustave Courbet in 1868. Between 1864 and 1868, Courbet produced a series of paintings of female nudes, including this one. He could not have failed to witness the triumph of Cabanel’s Birth of Venus (Musée d’Orsay, Paris) at the Salon of 1863, along with the popularity of other representations of Venus by Cabanel’s fellow academicians.  Nude paintings for sale

In Woman in the Waves, Courbet evokes the myth of Venus born of the sea, but slyly subverts the figure’s pose, which derived from academic convention, by depicting the model’s underarm hair an element of realism underscored by the almost palpable quality of her flesh. This painting can be reproduced by Daydaypaint.com. Original Dimensions: Height: 65.4 cm, Width: 54 cm. Other sizes and custom sizes are available, Please Contact with us by email: daydaypaint@gmail.com.

Gustave Courbet Paintings Woman with a Parrot

Woman with a Parrot was painted by Gustave Courbet in 1866. Galvanized by the success of Cabanel’s Birth of Venus (Musée d’Orsay, Paris) at the Salon of 1863, Courbet sought to challenge the French Academy on its own terms with a painting of a nude that would be accepted by the increasingly rigid and arbitrary Salon jury. His first attempt, in 1864, was rejected on the grounds of indecency; however, two years later, his Woman with a Parrot was accepted for the Salon of 1866.  Buy famous nude paintings online

While aspects of Woman with a Parrot notably, the figure’s pose and subtly modeled flesh tones aligned it with academic art, viewers were shocked by the presence of the model’s discarded clothing and disheveled hair. Jules-Antoine Castagnary, Courbet’s great defender, however, praised the artist for representing a “woman of our time.” This painting can be reproduced by Daydaypaint.com. Original Dimensions: Height: 129.5 cm, Width: 195.6 cm. Other sizes and custom sizes are available, Please Contact with us by email: daydaypaint@gmail.com.
